Walking under the Shannon river

Today was the open day for the Limerick tunnel which goes under the shannon river.
The public could walk under it before it opens next month.....it will be the only time pedestrians will be allowed to do this.

Caitlin Mack myself and a few friends decided to walk the tunnel...it was a beautiful day and most of Limerick turned out I would say...There was a real sense of occasion and the kids bought baseball caps with the date and "I walked under the Shannon" printed on them and we bought programs which were really well produced with photos of the construction and loads of facts and information. Here are a few pictures of the day.....
