Triathalon

Mack had a big day today.....It was his 7th birthday on the 4th so we had a party for him in the community centre today and invited all his classmates as well as outside friends and cousins etc. About 30 kids showed up which is a great turnout and I was glad of the extra help in the shape of Graham who is my daughter Jamies boyfriend.He played football with the boys in the sports hall and there was a bouncycastle for those who didnt want to play, or as Mack put it "for the girls and the smallies".
After the party there was a quick change and Mack was rushed off to his first triathalon. Now when I say triathalon...It was a race organised by Limerick triathalon club of which Mack is a member, for the kids to practice the rules and the transitions etc under race conditions.. There was no swimming but they ran first then cycled and then ran again.....it was very exciting. Mack ran in the under 8s and came a very well deserved 3rd.
We were all thrilled......Grandma and Auntie Adrienne were there from England and Mum Mum and Auntie Helen were also there because of course everyone had come over for the birthday, We were all quite shattered by the time we got home. Everyone agreed it had been a most successfull and enjoyable day.
